![]() The main objective of Ergotherapy is to give visitors the chance to work and become members of the staff of the farm for a few hours. The therapy is done around the farm stables or/and at the surrounding gardens/planting fields. This allows them to feel useful and needed -which they are! In addition, they develop as persons and become aware of their ability to assist and work. Also, Ergotherapy does miracles to the development and aquitance of self-support skills.
Ergotherapy is a program suitable for certain types of groups. Groups of physically and slightly mentally disadvantaged are the most appropriate. The program will not do much good to severely disabled.
THC offers the program on a "once a day" basis, but it is often too much for unused people. The ideal frequency for our visitors is usually 3-4 times a week. The program is done under the guidance of the THC staff and at least one group therapist. Visitors will be given tasks to do for 1-2 hours a day, either at the fields/garden or at the equestrian farm.
![]() Therapeutic Holidays Centre has been offering Ergotherapy to its visitors since the early days of the Centre, but since 2003 it will be the first year such program will be inserted as a core program in all holiday sessions. Group therapists/carers, in co-ordination with our experts on the program will determine the level of Ergotherapy, and whether it is appropriate to your group. We, suggest that all groups have at least a "try" of Ergotherapy. Therapeutic Holiday Centre is a registered charity in Greece . R.N: 999678884 |
